The two-day forum, held from May 12–13, 2025 at the Ethiopian Skylight Hotel, brought together top government officials, global investors, private sector leaders, and development partners for strategic dialogue, networking, and deal-making.
Under the theme “Ethiopia: The Next Frontier for Investment – Unlocking Untapped Potential,” the event was co-organized by the Ministry of Finance, the Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC), and the Development Partners Group (DPG). It served as a flagship platform to highlight Ethiopia’s dynamic economic reforms, investment opportunities, and expanding market potential across key sectors.
During opening sessions, high-level government representatives underscored the nation’s commitment to economic liberalization, greater private-sector engagement, and enhanced ease of doing business. Policy reforms spotlighted at the forum include the introduction of a market-based foreign exchange system and the opening of sectors such as finance, banking, and logistics to foreign direct investment.
Throughout the forum, participants engaged in plenary keynotes, panel discussions, and sector-specific breakout sessions addressing priority areas such as agriculture, manufacturing, energy, ICT, and services — each designed to showcase investment-ready opportunities and drive sustainable economic growth.
A highlight of the event was the signing of several investment agreements worth a combined $1.6 billion, spanning mining, renewable energy, and manufacturing sectors, signaling strong investor confidence in Ethiopia’s business environment.
