Solar Africa 2025 Powers Renewable Energy Momentum in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – February 20, 2025 — The 5th edition of Solar Africa – Solar Exhibition in Ethiopia concluded successfully this week at Millennium Hall, reinforcing Ethiopia’s growing position as a renewable energy hub in East Africa.

Held from February 18–20, 2025 in Addis Ababa, the international exhibition brought together leading solar manufacturers, energy innovators, policymakers, investors, and technology providers from across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. The event was organized by Expogroup Worldwide and co-located with Power & Energy Africa, creating a comprehensive platform for renewable and conventional energy stakeholders.

The exhibition showcased cutting-edge solar photovoltaic (PV) modules, battery storage systems, inverters, off-grid solutions, smart energy management technologies, and large-scale commercial and industrial solar applications. Exhibitors emphasized solutions tailored to emerging markets, particularly those addressing rural electrification, telecom power systems, agricultural irrigation, and industrial energy demands.

Industry leaders noted that Ethiopia’s strong solar irradiation levels and supportive policy environment continue to attract global attention. With ongoing infrastructure development and increasing demand for reliable electricity, solar power is emerging as a critical component of the nation’s long-term energy strategy.

Throughout the three-day event, participants engaged in high-level networking sessions, B2B meetings, and technical discussions focused on accelerating renewable deployment across the continent. Investors and project developers explored new partnerships aimed at expanding clean energy access while reducing dependence on traditional power sources.

As Africa’s renewable energy market continues to expand, Solar Africa 2025 demonstrated the continent’s readiness to embrace innovation, sustainability, and private-sector collaboration. The exhibition reaffirmed Ethiopia’s strategic role in driving solar adoption and highlighted the importance of regional cooperation in meeting Africa’s growing energy needs.
